More about me

How I work

Person centred

I will offer the qualities of empathy, authenticity and acceptance. These 'core conditions' enable a trusting and mutual relationship to develop so that together we can explore, understand and develop your internal landscape.

Authentic

Authenticity is at the heart of my practice. Carl Rogers, the founder of the person centred approach, said "‘It is only by providing the genuine reality which is in me, that the other person can successfully seek for the reality in him."

Relational

Research shows that the relationship between client and counsellor is one of the most important elements of therapy. I will offer you a warm, friendly connection, with humour and a little challenge thrown in.

Psychodynamic

Many of the issues and unwanted patterns that bring people to counselling, have roots in the past. As part of our work, we can discover, process and release these old ways of being, creating space for a new, more accepting sense of self.
